In the global satellite navigation market, due to the early development of GPS in the United States, the share has exceeded 95%, which is the biggest challenge that China's Beidou navigation system will face when it is put into application. In the face of a strong rival that has occupied a monopoly position for a long time, the application prospect of "Beidou" has attracted the attention of Chinese people. The biggest feature of "Beidou" is to closely combine navigation and communication, which is not available in other navigation systems. Deserts, grasslands and other places cannot be used, and these characteristics of "Beidou" can play an important role. The 2008 earthquake disrupted communications in the worst-hit areas. Rescue troops with "Beidou" terminal equipment to enter, using its short message function to break through the communication blind spot, and the outside world. At the same time, through the location report function, it can grasp the position of each terminal at any time. And "Beidou" for the first time to gather a variety of orbit design in one, such a hybrid orbit can provide more visible satellites, can support longer continuous observation time and higher accuracy. It is expected that when the Beidou Global Navigation System is completed in 2020, its global positioning accuracy can compete with GPS, and the positioning accuracy in the Asia-Pacific region will be even higher.
