Typical application cases of automotive inspection and maintenance - drive shaft sound fault diagnosis

2018-04-28 20:48:49

When the car started, the body trembled and heard the crash of "clack, clack". During driving, a periodic sound was found, and the sound was more obvious when the speed changed, the cab vibration, and the steering wheel had a numb feeling. This is the phenomenon of the transmission shaft ringing, which is caused by what? And how to troubleshoot this problem? Let's break it down for you.

Fault cause
1

The connecting bolts of the drive shaft or the U-shaped bolts of the rear steel plate are loose, resulting in the unbalanced operation of the drive shaft.

2

The spline fit between the drive shaft and the sleeve fork is loose.

3

The spline of the transmission output shaft with the flange is loose, or the fixing bolt of the intermediate bearing bracket is loose.

4

The drive shaft is bent or improperly installed, causing the balance to be destroyed, or the sleeve is skewed when welded to the spline shaft.

Troubleshooting and maintenance
1

When the car starts, the body shakes and hears the sound of "Kla, kla", and can do a rapid acceleration or rapid deceleration test while driving. If the sound intensifies at the moment of the sudden change of the throttle valve and the car shakes, most of the splines are loose or the link bolts are loose. Stop the car and cushion the wheel with a wooden block, release the parking brake, shake the drive shaft with your hand, and judge the loose section according to the feel. If the fixing bolt of the middle bearing bracket is loose, tighten it in time. If the spline matches loosely, it should be able to continue to be used in time to reach the destination to repair.

When the car is driving, the drive shaft appears periodic sound, and the cab vibrates, and the steering disc is numb in the hand. Generally, the drive shaft is improperly installed or bent, and the fixing bolt of the middle bearing bracket is loose. First check the fixing bolts of the middle bearing bracket and tighten them, and then check whether the fork heads of the two ends of the drive shaft are installed correctly. The correct installation is: a. the Angle between the input shaft and the output shaft and the drive shaft is equal; b. The universal joint forks at both ends of the drive shaft are in the same plane, and the arrangement is: parallel arrangement - the input shaft and the output shaft axis are parallel; Isosceles arrangement - the input shaft, output shaft and drive shaft are three axes in an isosceles triangle.

If in the driving, to brake deceleration, the drive shaft knocking sound is particularly strong, should check the rear leaf spring U-bolt is loose, if necessary re-tighten. The fault has been removed.
